Hey concerned citizens, Election Day '05 is just around the corner.  And in New York City, where Republicans often come up lonely at the ballot box, we actually have a good chance of a key victory in the heart of Manhattan.

Patrick Murphy, GOP candidate for City Council District 4, has picked up a slew of key endorsements, including Mayor Mike "The Kevlar Incumbent" Bloomberg, The New York Post, the League of Conservation Voters, and the Citizens Union.  As former President of the NYC Log Cabin Republicans, a board member of the national organization, a community activist, and a successful business executive, Patrick makes for a compelling candidate to bring an independent and responsible voice to the Council.

Even The New York Times, who gave their official nod to Murphy's opponent, has had nothing but nice things to say about the candidate.

If Murphy wins, it'll end an era of zero Republican Council representation from the borough of Manhattan (a stupefying 48 of 51 seats are held by Democrats city-wide) and help establish a kernel of balance in a bloated and ineffective local legislature.
