Yet More Good Economic News

Just released by the Labor Department:

  • 3rd Quarter revised productivity: Up 4.7% (vs. 4.5% consensus estimate)
  • Unit labor cost: Down 1% (vs. -0.9% consensus estimate)

Productivity is the magic bullet that enables real economic growth without inflation and 4.7% is the highest rate in 2 years.

The U.S. economy is doing superbly.

But how can that possibly be true, SuitablyFlip?! It still costs $125.19 in gas to fill up my Hummer X-5 Terra SUV on the drive to my Chomsky and Krugman undergrad seminars (where I hear the real Truth.) Not to mention that the illegals who landscape my Hampton property are disappearing...Thank God I still have a trust willing to pay $4.25 for my "fair-trade" Sumatran Starbuck-blended latte. Someday we'll elect a new FDR to get us out of this mess of prosperity! Meantime I'll dream of the utopian EU model...
