Saddam Hussein's Terror Camps

[cc: 9/11 Commission]

Looks like the whole "no evidence of Saddam having terror ties" argument is about to go out the window.  Ditto for the "Iraq was not a terrorist hotbed, but it is now" rationale.

From The Weekly Standard (emphasis and excerpting mine):

THE FORMER IRAQI REGIME OF Saddam Hussein trained thousands of radical Islamic terrorists from the region at camps in Iraq over the four years immediately preceding the U.S. invasion, according to documents and photographs recovered by the U.S. military in postwar Iraq.
...
The photographs and documents ... include handwritten notes, typed documents, audiotapes, videotapes, compact discs, floppy discs, and computer hard drives.

America-bashers are going to need to dig deep to spin this one.

Elsewhere:

California Conservative offers deserved praise for the author of the piece (and the book The Connection: How al Qaeda’s Collaboration with Saddam Hussein Has Endangered America) Stephen Hayes.

Michelle Malkin reminds us of the Kerry/Kennedy position.

Bear to the Right rounds up reaction.
