Oscars - A Brief Debrief
Lordy, that was awful. The self-congratulat-o-meter nearly broke off.
The most egregious moment had to be 3-6 Mafia's win for best song with "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp". Had to love their enthusiasm, but was this really the best song of the year? This one ought to drive a bit of a nail into the coffin of whatever's left of the Academy's relevance.
Making the evening slightly more palatable were the live blogs at Captain's Quarters and Pajamas Media. Robert Altman and Reese Witherspoon also showed that there are at least a few professional entertainers in the business who are able to perform capably in front of an audience for 60 seconds.
Elsewhere, Expose the Left made an impressive set of predictions.
