Hillary's In, Hires Time's Man Of the Year As Campaign Blogger

Yep, she's going to run for President.  As a New Yorker, I was operating under the assumption that she was committed to serving out the six-year term we just re-elected her to.  She'd so craftily brushed off Presidential designs during the debates.  Well, I guess we did get a few dozen hours worth of work out of the session before she officially turned away from the job she just asked for another turn at, in favor of this much more exciting pursuit.

And to think, John Spencer would've probably just sat around, a-jawin' and a-legislatin', working on behalf of New Yorkers over the next 22 months.  Talk about boring!

Many of the Republican candidates have taken on "new media gurus" or "bloggers-in-chief" to act as online strategists and liaisons to the blogosphere.  No slouch in this arena, Hillary's planning a live, interactive webchat Monday night.  As for her in-house blogger, she's made a touching choice:  you.

This is actually a reasonably clever way to shoulder her way into the lefty blogosphere (where she's not particularly popular).  While the fringe-dwelling Kossacks of the world might never come around to her brand of fauxcentrism, any lefty bloggers who either genuinely support her or are willing to say they do for sake of the traffic-generation and cachet that having the inaugural post on Clinton's website would offer will likely spend the day agonizing over the most eloquent bootlickery they can hash out.
